Free Relationship Quizzes and Tools

Short quizzes that help you see a pattern clearly, and tools for tonight's conversation.

Love Answers’ relationship quizzes show you a pattern in your own answers. They cannot read your partner’s mind, diagnose anyone or make a decision for you, and each result says which of those limits applies. Use a quiz to get your thoughts in order before a conversation, a therapy session or a hard choice.

At Love Answers, we wrote every question in these quizzes ourselves and scored them in the open: each guide below the quiz explains how the points add up and where the cut-offs fall. Two quizzes include safety questions that skip the score entirely when an answer points to fear or control.

What Each Quiz Measures

Each quiz adds up your answers into a score or a pair of scores, then maps the result to a short explanation and a next step.

QuizQuestionsHow it scoresResults
Is my partner cheating200 to 2 per answer, total out of 40Few signs, some signs, strong pattern
Attachment style24Two averages from 1 to 5, midpoint 3Secure, anxious, avoidant, fearful-avoidant
Toxic relationship180 to 2 per answer, total out of 36, five safety questionsHealthy, unhealthy patterns, toxic, or safety result
Should I stay160 to 2 per answer, total out of 32, one safety questionBase missing, mixed, worth saving, or safety result

Every quiz needs about 80% of its questions answered before it shows a result. That rule stops a score built from three answers from looking like a finding.

What a Relationship Quiz Can Tell You

A quiz turns a vague feeling into specific statements you agreed or disagreed with. That is useful in three situations:

What a Relationship Quiz Cannot Tell You

A high score on the cheating quiz does not prove an affair. The same changes in mood, sex and routine fit depression, work stress and money trouble. What we see readers get wrong most often is treating one sign as proof.

No quiz on Love Answers can diagnose you or your partner. Words like “toxic” and “fearful-avoidant” describe patterns, and they are not clinical labels. If you are worried about a mental health condition, a licensed therapist is the person who can assess it.

A quiz also hears one side. Your partner might answer every question differently, and their answers would be just as real to them. And no quiz can weigh your children, your money, your faith or your history, which is why the should I stay quiz gives you a direction and leaves the decision with you.

How to Get a More Useful Result

A few habits make any of these quizzes more useful:

  1. Answer about the last few months, compared with how things used to be.
  2. Pick a side whenever you can. A page of “Neutral” or “Not sure” answers pulls every score toward the middle.
  3. Read the questions you scored highest on, and the total too.
  4. Retake the same quiz after a few months of changes and compare.

When to Skip the Quiz and Call Someone

If you are afraid of your partner, you do not need a score first. Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788, and call 911 in an emergency. For thoughts of suicide, call or text 988.

Two Tools for Easier Nights

Not every tool here is about a problem. The couples question generator gives you one question at a time from 40, sorted by mood and depth. The date night picker shows three ideas from a list of 31, filtered by place, budget and energy. Pick the quiz or tool that matches tonight and start with the first question.

Frequently asked questions

Are relationship quizzes accurate?

A relationship quiz is accurate about your own answers on the day you take it. Our quizzes use original questions that have not been tested the way research questionnaires are, so treat a result as a summary of what you reported. The explainer under each quiz shows exactly how it is scored.

Do the quizzes save my answers?

The quizzes need no sign-up and ask for no name or email. Your answers stay in the page while you take the quiz, and ‘Start over’ clears them. If someone checks your phone, clear the page from your browser history afterward.

Can my partner and I take the same quiz?

Yes, and it often helps. Take it separately, then compare answers question by question. The questions where your answers differ most are usually the best place to start talking.

Which quiz should I take first?

Start with the one closest to your worry. If you suspect an affair, take the cheating quiz. If you feel unsafe or controlled, take the toxic relationship quiz, and if you want to understand your own reactions, take the attachment style quiz.
